The Purple-throated Cotinga, Porphyrolaema porphyrolaema, is a species of bird in the Cotingidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Porphyrolaema. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical swamps and heavily degraded former forest.
