This species is distributed in the middle Amazon River basin, including the Negro, Tapajos, and Branco Rivers.[1][2] R. depressa probably inhabits sandy substrates with flowing waters.[1] R. depressa reaches a length of about 11 centimetres (4 in) SL.[2]
