Note: Waltheria americana and W. indica have equal priority according to ICN Code Art. 11, Ex. 18, but W. indica is treated as having priority over W. americana by IPNI (2020) and therefore it becomes the type species.

Waltheria is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is sometimes placed in Sterculiaceae.[1] The name honours German botanist Augustin Friedrich Walther (1688–1746).[3]
