Leconte Prize

The Leconte Prize (French: Prix Leconte) is prize in physics, created in 1886 and currently awarded every four years by the French Academy of Sciences. Recipients, who may be of any nationality, must have either:

made a new and important discovery in physics; or
discovered a new application of physical science that gives much better results than those obtained to date.

The current value of the award (as of 2009) is €3000.
