PowerEsim

PowerEsim is a circuit simulation software product. It is an online switched-mode power supply(SMPS) design software and transformer design software. It can do loss analysis on component and circuit levels, simulation on board temperature, design verification, failure rate analysis and generate reports on the done analysis or test.

One of the common circuit design simulation tool used is a SPICE simulator. This knowledge oriented design approach tool requires user to possess knowledge about it and the domain knowledge about the module one would like to use so as to start the simulation. Within a different kind of simulation, transformer design and simulation requires in particularly large amount of physical concept. However, a transformer is just wires around a ferrite core.

To evaluate the feasibility of enabling the user to do circuit simulation without the need of knowing domain knowledge, efforts are put to develop a result oriented approach simulation tool.[1][2][3] It only required the BOM (Bill of Materials) and the topology used to perform the simulation.

PowerEsim is the results of the efforts, and it also improves in handling differential equations by using close form equations instead of numeric method. Some approximation has also been done to speed up the calculation process, hence the normal time for a steady state simulation in PowerEsim is less than 0.1 second, which is 1000 faster than SPICE simulation.[citation needed]PowerEsim models components available in the market, thus provide more realistics simulation.
