49 Pales

49 Pales (pronounced /ˈpeɪliːz/) is a large, dark Main belt asteroid. Pales was discovered by Hermann Goldschmidt on September 19, 1857[1] and named after Pales, goddess of shepherds in Roman mythology.[9]
