Note: Madhani et al. (2018) proposed subsuming this genus into Gypsophila with four resurrected combinations. This is accepted by Govaerts et al. (2019), but by not Hassler (2019). Madhani et al. (2018) did not consider Ankyropetalum coelesyriacum and Ankyropetalum gypsophiloides var. viscosum Barkoudah in their treatment and neither do Govaerts et al. (2019). WS must assume a conservative position and the differing opinions appear on the species pages.
