Johnston's Genet (Genetta johnstoni) is a mammal from the Carnivora order, related to civets and linsangs in the family Viverridae. It is native to the African countries of Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea and Liberia.[1] It inhabits the region's rainforests, although a specimen was seen in other habitat, and the rarely sighted species is considered one of West Africa's least known small carnivores. Johnston's Genet was only known from a few (mostly damaged) museum skins and skulls, until 2000 when the first live specimen was captured by A. Dunham in Taï National Park, Ivory Coast [3] ^ a b Wozencraft, W. Christopher (16 November 2005). "Order Carnivora (pp. 532-628)". In Wilson, Don E., and Reeder, DeeAnn M., eds.
