Otopharynx pachycheilus Arnegard & Snoeks, 2001

Holotype: MRAC 99-88-P-4. [Paratypes: AMNH 229530 (1); BMNH 200.1.11.2 (1); CU 80378 (4); MRAC 88-41-P-1 to P-2 (1, 1), 99-88-P-1 to P-3 (1, 1, 1)].

Type locality: Ngara, Lake Malawi, 10°16.97'S, 34°12.32'E to 10°18.58'S, 34°12.67'E, depth 125-135 meters.

The Rubberlip Hap (Otopharynx pachycheilus) is a ray-finned fish species in the family Cichlidae. In the aquarium fish trade, it is sometimes called Otopharynx 'rubber lips'.

It is endemic to Malawi. Its habitat is freshwater lakes.
