Type species: Kaatedocus siberi Tschopp & Mateus, 2012

Etymology: ‘Kaate’ means small in the Crow (Absaroka) language, one of the Native American tribes of northern Wyoming. ‘Docus’ is an allusion to Diplodocus and the Greek dokos/δoκoς ‘beam’.
