Miathyria is a Neotropical genus of dragonflies. They are commonly known as Hyacinth Gliders.[1] One species, M. marcella, occurs in North America.[1] They are associated with floating plants, especially Water Hyacinth[1] or Water Lettuce.[2]

The genus contains only two species:[3]

Miathyria marcella (Selys in Sagra, 1857) - Hyacinth Glider[4]
Miathyria simplex (Rambur, 1842) - Dwarf Glider[2]
